It is extremely important to note that smudging originated from and is a sacred practice of Indigenous peoples.
To avoid cultural appropriation, it’s important to research the history of smudging and be mindful of the practice. Through mindful education and respect of the origins of smudging we believe smudging can be a positive practice within your daily life as it has become in ours. We acknowledge that AuraTae is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Stó:lō people, the Semá:th and Mathxwí First Nation. With this, we respect the longstanding relationships that Indigenous Nations have to this land, as they are the original caretakers.
Our white sage (salvia apiana) is grown on a small farm in Southern California and is sustainably harvested. Each sage smudge stick is hand-picked, dried, and carefully tied using only the highest quality California White Sage. Bright and vibrant dried rose petals are wrapped around the sage. Our fragrant sage burns well and smells fantastic. Each sage stick measures 4.25 to 4.5 inches in length and is 1.5 inches wide.
